The death has occurred of Charles (Charlie) O’Leary Brisbane, Australia (and formerly Cahir, Aghadoe, Killarney, Co. Kerry). Charlie passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, 23rd February, 2022, aged 92 years.
A father of eight, Charlie is deeply mourned by his beloved Monica, his loving wife of 62 years, and his children, Denis, Amanda, Karen, Christine, Brendan, baby Liam (dcd.), Carmel and Megan; his daughter-in-laws, Sheila (Killarney) and Memey; sons-in-law Adrian (Dublin), Stuart, Steve, Brett and Rees; his eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Charlie spent most of his long and happy life in Brisbane but he remained a very proud Kerryman to the last. He is mourned by his surviving siblings: John O’Leary (Aghadoe, Killarney), Norah (Wales), Humphrey (London), and Denis (New Zealand), nieces and nephews, cousins and friends in Ireland, Australia and across the world.
Charlie’s funeral will take place at 10am (AEST) on Friday, March 4th, 2022 (midnight, Irish time, the previous night, Thurs. March 3rd) at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Rochedale, Brisbane, followed by burial afterwards in Mt. Gravatt Cemetery.
